Marine Results partners Alan Roberts Racing for La Solitaire Bompard Le Figaro
Alan Roberts, 26, is going into his third Solitaire Bompard Le Figaro solo race with the support of specialist grand prix and superyacht rigging and survey company Marine Results.
Alan starts the first leg, Deauville – Cowes, of the single handed race on 19th June with all the Marine Results supplied running rigging on board that he will need for the four-stage race.
The boat, and Marine Results supplied equipment will be available for viewing in Cowes between the 22nd June and 29th June when the race restarts for the leg to Paimpol in Brittany.
“I am really pleased to have the support of a team of specialists who are also top of their own sailing game,” comments Alan Roberts. “With a fully kitted out boat it’s great to have confidence in the lines, allowing me to race hard and concentrate on all the other areas of the project.”
Alan, along with the other 38 sailors in the fleet, will be campaigning his 32ft (10.1m) Beneteau Figaro in the race which finishes in La Rochelle on 10th July. He adds “With the number of sailing hours and miles that can be clocked up during the training alone it is essential that kit is replaced before we start the race, and the best materials for the job are in the right places. With the advice that the Marine Results team has given us we have already seen the boat achieve a more reliable and improved performance during trials.”
Jon Morris of Marine Results says “We are proud to be supporting a young British sailor who lives locally to our head office. Alan has already achieved a great deal on the solo circuit, with a top 10 place last year, and we are pleased to help him gain even greater success.”
Marine Results is no stranger to equipping the rigs of long distance single handed yachts. Amongst the company’s global grand prix and superyacht support it has also been closely involved with Open 60 campaigns, the Volvo Race and America’s Cup.
Marine Results joins Alan’s other campaign partners, Seacat Services, Zhik, Kilchoman, Sealskinz and the Artemis Offshore Academy.
